Meatloaf and Mashed Rutabaga or Baked Sweet Potatoes

meatloaf_Nothing like meatloaf and mashed potatoes for good winter comfort food. Here’s my easy recipe that you can whip up in no time for a quick meal so you can get to bed earlier and get the sleep you need!


1-1½ lbs organic free range ground beef or ground turkey

Approx 1 cup tomato sauce

¼- ½ cup Parmesan cheese

½ cup organic breadcrumbs

Sea salt

Dried herbs: i.e. tarragon or marjoram leaf, basil, parsley, black pepper, oregano



Mix all together w/hands. Consistency should be quite moist, if not add more tomato sauce.  Place in bread loaf pan and bake in oven at 375 degrees for about 1 hour.  Bake sweet potatoes or squash at same time. Serve w/baked sweet potatoes/squash or mashed rutabagas and a side of your favorite greens. Rutabagas cook up just like mashed potatoes. Peel them, cut in chunks, boil in water til soft, then mash w/ a little ghee or butter. Healthier option than white potatoes and SWEETER!  Also good for increasing libido 🙂
